“How should we sing? Praying to Krishna with heart – full of heart. Then Krishna will hear. Otherwise, you will be singing like a professional. Krishna doesn’t need so much music. He knows so many songs. He wants heart. When you sing any kirtana, you should be absorbed in it. If you are chanting and hearing like this, Krishna will at once come and give you His wealth.” (Srila B.V Narayana Goswami Maharaja)

“Krsna likes one tear more than a thousand words. If we cry for Krsna as we chant his names, his heart will melt and he will bestow his mercy. We should pray with our hearts. Our words and hearts should be one. When we pray, our heart should emanate from our bodies in the shape of tears, and then the fruit will come. We cannot achieve this without the mercy of Krsna or any of His special associates. We are able to weep for worldly things, but not for bhakti. We are able to perform external services but we don’t know how to weep. We should want to weep from our hearts as we call out, ‘O Radhe, O Krsna, O Gurudeva.'”
